Coalesce Management Consulting is seeking an Interim Head of Configuration Management to lead the development and rollout of a global CM framework across international engineering sites, standardising processes, governance and data management.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement across multiple regions, and the ability to drive change while travelling internationally (about 25%), with remote working options.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 8+ years of Configuration Management experience within complex engineering environments.
• Leadership experience within Configuration Management, Engineering Governance or PLM functions.
• Strong knowledge of CM standards and best practices.
• Experience implementing or improving CM frameworks, processes and governance.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Aras or similar.
• Ability to drive organisational change and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience in regulated engineering sectors is advantageous.
• Experience leading global engineering transformation or continuous improvement programmes is desirable.

Currently we're looking for an Interim Head of Configuration Management to join our client in the UK. This is an initial 6-12 month contract opportunity with a possibility of transitioning into a permanent position for the right individual.

The successful candidate will take the lead in developing and implementing a global Configuration Management framework across multiple international engineering sites, helping to standardise processes, governance, data management and change control activities across the organisation.

Working within an established transformation team, you will engage with stakeholders across the UK, Germany, France and the US, driving improvements to Configuration Management capability and supporting the long-term evolution of the organisation's engineering governance structure.

The position operates on a highly flexible basis, with remote working available. Candidates should be able to travel to London when required, alongside international travel to global sites, primarily Germany (approximately 25% travel).

In order to suit the project requirements you should have some of the following:

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Computer Science or a related technical discipline
• 8+ years of Configuration Management experience within complex engineering environments
• Previous leadership experience within Configuration Management, Engineering Governance or Product Lifecycle Management functions
• Strong knowledge of EIA-649, ISO 10007 and Configuration Management best practices
• Experience implementing or improving Configuration Management frameworks, processes and governance structures
• Strong understanding of change control, baseline management, configuration audits and engineering release processesHands-on experience with enterprise PLM systems such as Teamcenter, Windchill, Aras or similar platforms
• Ability to drive organisational change and influence cross-functional stakeholders across Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, IT and Programme Management teams
• Experience improving configuration and product data quality, governance and lifecycle management processes
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills within global organisations
• Experience working within aerospace, defence, aviation, automotive, medical device or other highly regulated engineering sectors would be advantageous
• Previous experience managing global engineering transformation or continuous improvement programmes would be highly desirable

This is an opportunity to play a key role in establishing a world-class Configuration Management capability within a global engineering business. You will be responsible for shaping the future operating model, influencing senior leadership decisions and building the foundations for long-term Configuration Management excellence across multiple international sites.
