Vitae Financial Recruitment Ltd. is partnering with a well‑established multi‑site business to recruit an Interim Group Reporting Accountant in Aylesbury.

The role is hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days at home) and focuses on statutory accounts and audit management for the group. You will lead statutory accounts preparation, coordinate the year‑end audit with external auditors, and support month‑end close, intercompany accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of statutory accounts with accuracy and compliance.

• Support group financial reporting, including month‑end journals, reconciliations and intercompany accounting.
• Collaborate with the wider finance team to ensure deadlines and processes run smoothly.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and strengthen controls.

Interim Group Reporting Accountant

Location: Aylesbury (hybrid - 3 days office / 2 days home)

Day Rate: £300-£400 per day (Umbrella)

Duration: Until the end of March 2027

Vitae Financial Recruitment is working with a well-established, multi-site business seeking an experienced Interim Group Reporting Accountant to support its Group Finance function on an interim basis.

This is a hands‑on role with a strong focus on statutory accounts preparation and audit management, providing additional support during a key period and ensuring a smooth handover of responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of statutory accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant reporting requirements.
• Manage the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors and responding to audit queries.
• Prepare supporting audit schedules and relevant financial documentation.
• Support group financial reporting, including month‑end journals, balance sheet reconciliations and intercompany accounting.
• Work closely with the wider finance team to ensure deadlines are met and reporting processes run smoothly.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and strengthen financial controls.

About You

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, particularly statutory accounts preparation and audit management.
• Background in practice or a multi-site, group finance environment.
• Confident managing external auditors and working to tight deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail, strong Excel skills and the ability to work independently.

The Opportunity A great opportunity for an experienced financial reporting professional to take ownership of key reporting and audit deliverables within an established business. The assignment is expected to run until the end of March 2027, with a hybrid working arrangement of three days in the office and two from home.
