Job Title: Interim Financial Controller/ Project Accountant

Location: Bristol/Bath/London (2-3 times a week in each office)

Duration: 6 months (Starting May 2025)

Rate: £300-£350 per day (Outside IR35 possible)

About the Role:

The Hays Senior Finance team is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller/ Project Accountant to join a dynamic private equity-backed manufacturing business. This is a 6-month interim position, starting as soon as May 2025. You will report directly to the CEO and support key financial activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare and organise the budget for FY 2026.
  2. Update Management Accounts from March/April.
  3. Extract and present financial data for shareholders and the board.
  4. Set up and manage a KPI dashboard.
  5. Collaborate with the outsourced bookkeeper.
  6. Attend occasional board meetings in London with the CEO.
Ideal Candidate:
  1. Proven experience in a similar role within an SME (30–35 employees, £8 million turnover).
  2. Proficient in Sage 200.
  3. Strong financial skills and ability to work independently.
  4. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  5. Flexible, with the ability to work remotely and in offices in London and Bristol.
