Job description

As our first Accounting Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in building BeOne’s accounting infrastructure and processes. This is a hands-on, high-impact position for someone both strategic and execution-driven. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will take full ownership of accounting operations and financial reporting while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.

Key responsibilities

Set up & framework

• Design and implement scalable accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls tailored for EMI and digital banking operations.
• Establish financial processes that align with regulatory, tax, and operational requirements.
• Review and enhance tax structuring and transfer pricing models to optimize efficiency and compliance.
• Lead the setup and integration of financial tools to automate workflows (e.g., AP, expense management, bookkeeping).

Execution & oversight

• Manage and supervise end-to-end accounting operations including bookkeeping, reconciliations, monthly closings, and audit preparation.
• Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all general ledger entries and financial statements.
• Oversee statutory obligations including payroll, VAT, CIT, and other regulatory filings, collaborating with local providers.
• Partner with product and engineering to embed accounting workflows into our platform infrastructure.

Team & collaboration

• Build and lead an accounting team as we scale.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders to support audits and compliance reviews.
• Act as a key partner across product, operations, compliance, and finance to drive strategic decisions.

What we expect from you

• 7+ years of experience in accounting, ideally within fintech, EMI, or digital banking environments.
• Qualified accountant with strong IFRS knowledge.
• Proven ability to define and implement accounting systems from scratch.
• Experience with accounting system implementations and cross-functional financial projects.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Self-starter mindset with a drive to build and improve processes.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with NetSuite (our future accounting system).
• Based in Latvia or knowledgeable about local financial regulations.
