Wade Macdonald is seeking an Interim Financial Controller for a PE-backed services business in West London. The role is Inside IR35, paying £500–£600 per day (umbrella), with hybrid work and three office days a week (Tue–Thu).

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with UK Financial Controller experience.
• Experience in a large PE-backed business with complex contracts and high transaction volumes.
• Strong commercial judgement; ability to spot issues in P&L and dig deeper.
• Used to limited handover and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders.
• Resilient under month-end pressure; flexible during peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close for key contracts and internal departments.
• Review the P&L, challenge the numbers and prepare commentary on variances.
• Take ad hoc analysis requests from the FD and MD and deliver quickly.
• Support the group reporting pack and the year-end audit.
