Harmonic is thrilled to be exclusively supporting a rapidly growing fintech company in their search for an Interim Financial Accountant to join their expanding finance team. The role will report directly into the Head of Finance and will be key in supporting the business through its next stage of growth. This position is outside IR35.

The Client

Our client is a dynamic fintech company that has just successfully closed a Series A funding round and is entering a period of rapid growth. With a mission to revolutionize financial services, the company is at the forefront of innovation in the sector. The business is scaling quickly and has ambitious plans to grow its user base and services.

They are a fast-paced, entrepreneurial team driven by collaboration and results. As they continue to scale, they are seeking an Interim Financial Accountant to support their finance function and ensure strong financial controls are maintained during this exciting period of growth.

The Role

As the Interim Financial Accountant, you will report directly to the Head of Finance and play an integral role in supporting the company’s financial operations. You will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, provide key insights into financial performance, and support strategic financial decisions as the company scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and consolidate financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes, working closely with the Head of Finance.
• Oversee the Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable functions, ensuring proper financial control and efficiency.
• Provide insightful financial analysis to inform business decisions and strategic planning.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring as the company continues to grow.
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations, collaborating with external tax advisors where necessary.
• Review and assist in the preparation of VAT returns.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.
• Work closely with other departments to provide financial support for business initiatives and growth plans.
• Identify and lead process improvements to drive efficiency and optimize financial operations.

What we need to see (Essential)

• ACA, CA or Equivalent
• Proven experience in a finance or tech related business
• Experience in a PE or VC-backed business
• Strong attention to detail and experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Start Date: ASAP (2/3 days a week in office)

Contract Length: 6 months, with potential to extend and transition to a permanent role.
