Job summary

Hays Senior Finance is recruiting for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a large, complex organisation on a fixed-term contract through to December 2027. The role covers financial reporting, controls, statutory accounts, audit and process improvement in a busy finance function.

You will lead monthly and annual reporting, support statutory accounts and year-end work, and act as a key contact for external audit while driving improvements across processes and controls.

Qualifications

• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA with post-qualification experience.
• Strong technical accounting and reporting knowledge.
• Experience with statutory accounts and external audits.

Hays Senior Finance is recruiting for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a large, complex organisation on a fixed-term contract through to December 2027. This is a broad technical accounting role with responsibility across financial reporting, controls, statutory accounts, audit and process improvement, alongside supporting the continued development of the finance function.

Working as a key member of the finance team, responsibilities will include:

• Leading monthly and annual financial reporting


• Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end reporting


• Acting as a key contact for external audit


• Reviewing accounting entries, reconciliations, accruals and prepayments


• Maintaining strong general ledger integrity and financial controls


• Providing technical accounting advice, including IFRS


• Reviewing and improving financial processes and controls

We're looking for an experienced, technically strong Financial Accountant who can quickly add value within a busy and changing environment. You will ideally have:

• Full ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualification


• Strong post-qualified financial accounting experience


• Excellent technical accounting and financial reporting knowledge


• Experience supporting statutory accounts and external audit


• Strong ERP/systems experience with Oracle Fusion is particularly advantageous


• Experience improving processes, controls and reporting


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• The ability to communicate technical finance matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders

Package

• £55,000 salary equivalent


• Fixed-term contract until December 2027
