ASC Connections is seeking a Financial Accountant on a 6-month contract in Leeds, working in a hybrid model with 3 days on-site and 2 days from home. The role supports quarter-end reporting, audits, and statutory and tax compliance across UK and EMEA entities.

You will prepare journals, assist with month- and quarter-end closings, perform balance sheet reconciliations, VAT reconciliations, and provide data and deliverables for external advisors.

Competenze

• Part-qualified CCAB (ACA/ACCA/ICAS/CAI) or CIMA status.
• Experience posting financial journals.
• Strong balance sheet reconciliations experience.
• Experience supporting internal/external audits during peak periods.
• Good understanding of statutory reporting requirements.
• Proactive, well-organised, and able to liaise with stakeholders.

Financial Accountant (Contract) - Leeds (Hybrid)

£200 day rate | 6-Month Contract

We are currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join a busy finance team on a 6-month contract basis. This role has been created to provide additional support during quarter-end reporting and peak audit activity. Working within a collaborative financial accounting function, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting statutory and tax reporting requirements, and assisting with audit deliverables across UK and EMEA entities. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on finance professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment and can quickly add value from day one.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journals across UK and EMEA entities within the ERP system.
• Support month‑end and quarter‑end closing activities.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Assist with VAT reconciliations and related financial reporting activities.
• Extract and provide financial data to support tax reporting and compliance requirements.
• Prepare and provide deliverables to external advisors for UK and EU accounts and tax returns.
• Support the preparation of statutory accounts and management reporting activities.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests, gathering supporting documentation and financial evidence as required.
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to provide financial and statutory information.
• Ensure financial records are maintained accurately and in line with accounting standards and internal controls.

Experience

• Part-qualified CCAB (ACA, ACCA, ICAS, CAI) or CIMA qualified/part-qualified.
• Previous experience preparing and posting financial journals.
• Strong understanding of balance sheet accounting and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience supporting internal or external audits, particularly during busy audit periods.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles and statutory reporting requirements.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
• A proactive and organised approach to managing workloads.
