Sharp Consultancy is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant on a long-term interim basis to join our finance team in Leeds. The role reports to the Financial Controller and CFO and requires robust technical accounting expertise with a credible track record in fast-paced environments.
You will maintain cash flow forecasts, prepare month-end journals, VAT returns, Intrastat, year-end statutory accounts, and support internal reporting while mentoring junior staff.

As a result of continued expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the finance team on a long-term interim basis, with an immediate start available.
Fully qualified (ACA, ACCA), you will be a proven interim finance professional who thrives in dynamic environments, quickly establishes credibility, and delivers value from day one. Working as a senior member of the finance function, you will play a key role in overseeing financial accounting activities and will report directly to both the Financial Controller and CFO.
Maintain weekly site and consolidated cash flow forecasts, partnering closely with the Financial Controller and CFO
Provide technical accounting expertise and guidance across the business
Oversee the day-to-day management of HIF accounts
Prepare and post month-end journals
Complete quarterly VAT returns
Manage monthly Intrastat submissions
Coordinate national statistics reporting requirements
Prepare year-end statutory accounts
Support a range of ad hoc financial reporting requests
Mentor, support and develop junior members of the finance team
Build strong and effective working relationships across the wider business
Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
Experienced in financial accounting within a fast-paced business environment
Comfortable stepping into interim assignments and making an immediate impact
Strong technical accounting knowledge
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Proactive, adaptable and able to work independently
This is a long-term interim opportunity offered on a 12-month fixed-term contract, providing the chance to join a highly successful business during an exciting phase of continued growth.
