Grant Thornton UK is actively seeking an Interim Financial Accountant to join our CFO Solutions – Finance Placements team. You will work on short- to medium-term projects, delivering finance expertise across client organisations while maintaining professional independence.

You’ll thrive in a dynamic, flexible contracting environment, choosing assignments that align with your skills and portfolio goals. We support you with onboarding, regulatory guidance, and community resources.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified member of a professional accounting body such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience within Industry, in a company with turnover ≥ £50m, ideally FTSE listed or Top 20 practice.
• Experience of year-end accounts preparation, audit liaison, and monthly management accounts.
• Group Accounts Consolidation and Intercompany accounting.
• Financial reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP, or international GAAP.
• Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and audits.

Responsibilities

• Provide interim finance support to client finance teams on projects.
• Engage in short- to medium-term assignments across various clients.
• Assist with finance function remediation and finance change programs.

Joining us in CFO Solutions – Finance Placements

Grant Thornton’s CFO Solutions provides strategic, transformation and execution support for CFOs, through multiple services including finance consultancy, finance placements, business process outsourcing and technical accounting advice. The Finance Placements team focuses on providing an on-demand and project-focused accounting service, deploying individuals and teams of interim finance professionals into our clients’ finance functions to help them through periods of challenge or change.

Whilst on a project, you will typically work alongside the finance team of one of our clients in diverse organizations from all industry sectors ranging from larger SMEs to multi-billion corporations and listed entities.

If you’re an experienced Interim Financial Accountant who’s tired of choosing between freedom and meaningful work, there’s another route. Skills we are looking for

• Fully qualified active member of a professional accounting body such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience working within Industry, in a company with an annual turnover of a minimum of £50m+, ideally within a listed FTSE business and/or Top 20 practice within financial/statutory accounting capacity.
• Experience of half and full-year-end accounts preparation, audit liaison and preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Group Accounts Consolidation and Intercompany accounting.
• Financial reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP, or international GAAP.
• Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and audits.
