Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to join its CFO Solutions – Finance Placements. You will work on short-to-medium-term projects across diverse client organisations from SMEs to large corporates in the Manchester area.

The role offers flexible engagement through personal services or inside IR35 terms, with a day rate that is negotiable and project-focused challenges to sharpen your accounting expertise.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified active member of a professional accounting body such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience of groups accounts consolidation and intercompany accounting.
• Experience with year-end statutory accounts and audits.
• Financial reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP, or international GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Provide interim finance support to clients within CFO Solutions.
• Collaborate with client finance teams during engagements and transformations.
• Assist with accounting, audit support, and finance change programs as required.

Joining us in CFO Solutions – Finance Placements

Grant Thornton’s CFO Solutions provides strategic, transformation and execution support for CFOs, through multiple services including finance consultancy, finance placements, business process outsourcing and technical accounting advice. The Finance Placements team focuses on providing an on-demand and project-focused accounting service, deploying individuals and teams of interim finance professionals into our clients’ finance functions to help them through periods of challenge or change.

Whilst on a project, you will typically work alongside the finance team of one of our clients in diverse organizations from all industry sectors ranging from larger SMEs to multi-billion corporations and listed entities.

If you’re an experienced Interim Financial Accountant who’s tired of choosing between freedom and meaningful work, there’s another route. Skills we are looking for

• Fully qualified active member of a professional accounting body such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience working within Industry, in a company with an annual turnover of a minimum of £50m+, ideally within a listed FTSE business and/or Top 20 practice within financial/statutory accounting capacity.
• Experience of half and full-year-end accounts preparation, audit liaison and preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Group Accounts Consolidation and Intercompany accounting.
• Financial reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP, or international GAAP.
• Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and audits.
