Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to join CFO Solutions – Finance Placements. You’ll work on short- to medium-term projects across finance functions for diverse clients, with the freedom of contract and a focus on meaningful work.

Engagement through your own limited company or inside IR35 terms. Expect varied assignments from accounting support to finance change programs, in firms ranging from mid-market to larger groups.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified accounting body (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience in industry with £50m+ turnover, ideally FTSE or Top 20 practice in financial/statutory accounting.
• Experience of half and full-year-end accounts preparation and audit liaison.
• Experience in monthly management accounts preparation.
• Experience with group accounts consolidation and intercompany accounting.
• Knowledge of IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP or other GAAPs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare half and full-year-end accounts and statutory reporting.
• Liaise with external auditors and support audits.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and standard financial reporting.
• Perform group accounts consolidation and intercompany accounting tasks.
• Contribute to finance function remediation and change programs.

Joining us in CFO Solutions – Finance Placements

Grant Thornton’s CFO Solutions provides strategic, transformation and execution support for CFOs, through multiple services including finance consultancy, finance placements, business process outsourcing and technical accounting advice. The Finance Placements team focuses on providing an on-demand and project-focused accounting service, deploying individuals and teams of interim finance professionals into our clients’ finance functions to help them through periods of challenge or change.

Whilst on a project, you will typically work alongside the finance team of one of our clients in diverse organizations from all industry sectors ranging from larger SMEs to multi-billion corporations and listed entities.

If you’re an experienced Interim Financial Accountant who’s tired of choosing between freedom and meaningful work, there’s another route. Skills we are looking for

• Fully qualified active member of a professional accounting body such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience working within Industry, in a company with an annual turnover of a minimum of £50m+, ideally within a listed FTSE business and/or Top 20 practice within financial/statutory accounting capacity.
• Experience of half and full-year-end accounts preparation, audit liaison and preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Group Accounts Consolidation and Intercompany accounting.
• Financial reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP, or international GAAP.
• Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and audits.
