Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant through the CFO Solutions – Finance Placements. You’ll work on varied client engagements, providing accounting expertise on interim projects and supporting finance teams in consolidation, statutory reporting, and audits.

Based in Birmingham or surrounding areas, you will join a community of interim professionals and engage with clients across sectors, handling half and full-year-end accounts and financial reporting with

Qualifications

• Fully qualified member of a professional accounting body (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
• Experience in industry with annual turnover of £50m+ and in listed FTSE or Top 20 practice in financial/statutory accounting.
• Experience preparing half and full-year-end accounts, audit liaison and monthly management accounts.
• Group Accounts consolidation and intercompany accounting.
• Financial reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP, or international GAAP.
• Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and audits.

Responsibilities

• Engage on short- to medium-term interim finance projects within CFO Solutions – Finance Placements.
• Support clients’ finance functions during periods of change and challenge.
• Collaborate with client finance teams, ensuring compliance and timely reporting.

Joining us in CFO Solutions – Finance Placements

Grant Thornton’s CFO Solutions provides strategic, transformation and execution support for CFOs, through multiple services including finance consultancy, finance placements, business process outsourcing and technical accounting advice. The Finance Placements team focuses on providing an on-demand and project-focused accounting service, deploying individuals and teams of interim finance professionals into our clients’ finance functions to help them through periods of challenge or change.

Whilst on a project, you will typically work alongside the finance team of one of our clients in diverse organizations from all industry sectors ranging from larger SMEs to multi-billion corporations and listed entities.

If you’re an experienced Interim Financial Accountant who’s tired of choosing between freedom and meaningful work, there’s another route. Skills we are looking for

• Fully qualified active member of a professional accounting body such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience working within Industry, in a company with an annual turnover of a minimum of £50m+, ideally within a listed FTSE business and/or Top 20 practice within financial/statutory accounting capacity.
• Experience of half and full-year-end accounts preparation, audit liaison and preparation of monthly management accounts.
• Group Accounts Consolidation and Intercompany accounting.
• Financial reporting under IFRS, UK GAAP, US GAAP, or international GAAP.
• Preparation of year-end statutory accounts and audits.
