Vitae Financial Recruitment is supporting an established organisation in Aylesbury to appoint an Interim Finance Assistant to join their Financial Control team. This hands-on role covers reconciliations, transactional finance, journals, payment activity and balance sheet controls.

The ideal candidate will have experience in transactional finance, strong reconciliation skills, and experience with journals and accounting systems.

Qualifications

Experience in a transactional finance or financial control environment.
Strong reconciliation skills with attention to detail.
Experience with journals and accounting systems; good Excel skills.

Responsibilities

Complete and own allocated payment, cash and account reconciliations; investigate discrepancies.
Produce regular reporting and identify variances; take appropriate action.
Process refunds, commissions and other transactional finance activity; ensure accurate entries.
Prepare and post journals relating to clearing and other finance processes.
Complete allocated Balance Sheet reconciliations; follow up on outstanding items.
Support the annual audit process by providing relevant information and documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency.
Provide support to the Finance Manager and wider team on ad hoc projects and activities.
