Job summary

Vitae Financial Recruitment is seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller for a 3-6 month contract in Hemel Hempstead. The role is hybrid, requiring 3 days in the office and offering a daily rate of £400-£500 inside IR35.

You will lead a finance team of around five, own year-end close, audits, management accounts and day-to-day reporting. Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will drive robust controls, improve processes and work with senior stakeholders to meet key deadlines.

Qualifications

• Strong financial accounting and control experience.
• Experience managing year-end and audit processes.
• Ability to lead and develop a mid-sized finance team.

Responsibilities

• Managing, supporting and developing a finance team of circa five.
• Taking ownership of the year-end close and statutory reporting process.
• Leading the year-end audit, acting as a key point of contact for external auditors.
• Preparation and review of monthly management accounts.
• Ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the balance sheet and supporting reconciliations.
• Overseeing financial controls and ensuring robust financial processes are maintained.
• Reviewing and improving existing finance processes and controls.
• Providing leadership, direction and support to the wider finance team.
• Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
• Ensuring key financial deadlines and reporting requirements are consistently met.
