Job summary

Elevate provides consulting, technology and services to law departments and law firms across the globe. Elevate seeks an experienced Data Privacy Lawyer for a 6-month interim contract, fully remote in the UK, to advise on UK GDPR and international privacy matters across a fast-moving technology landscape.

You will work closely with Legal, Compliance, Information Security and business stakeholders to support privacy risk assessments, data incidents, regulatory inquiries, and governance

Qualifications

• Qualified lawyer with significant Data Privacy / Data Protection experience.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and international privacy regulations.
• Experience drafting and negotiating privacy-related contractual provisions.
• Previous in-house experience preferred, ideally within a technology, SaaS or other data-driven environment.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience across technology, cloud, AI, international data transfers and/or information security would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on data privacy and data protection matters across multiple jurisdictions.
• Draft, review and negotiate privacy-related provisions in commercial agreements, including DPAs, vendor contracts and customer-facing terms.
• Advise on GDPR and wider international data protection requirements.
• Support privacy risk assessments, data incidents, regulatory enquiries and data governance initiatives.
• Work closely with Legal, Compliance, Information Security and business stakeholders on privacy projects and strategic initiatives.
