Job description

Contract: 3 months
Day Rate: Up to £280 per day
Location: Central London, hybrid working (2 days per week in the office)

We're looking for a CRM Data Manager to join an established marketing function on an initial 3-month contract, taking ownership of customer marketing data which support a portfolio of consumer-facing products and services.

This is a hands-on role, combining strong SQL and database management skills with an understanding of how customer data supports effective CRM activity, from campaign targeting and segmentation through to customer retention and cross-selling.

You'll be responsible for maintaining the quality, integrity and accessibility of customer data, ensuring it's structured effectively, managed appropriately and can be used to support commercially focused marketing activity.

What you'll be doing
  • Using SQL to interrogate customer databases, build queries and extract targeted audiences for CRM and marketing campaigns.
  • Managing customer data quality, accuracy and integrity across multiple products and customer databases.
  • Working closely with CRM and marketing colleagues to identify customer segments, support retention activity and uncover cross-selling opportunities.
  • Producing database extracts, reports and customer insights to support marketing, commercial and wider business teams.
  • Overseeing customer data flows and mapping, ensuring information is captured, maintained and transferred accurately between systems.
  • Supporting GDPR compliance, investigating customer data queries and ensuring appropriate data management practices are followed.
  • Maintaining and developing customer data policies and processes to improve consistency, efficiency and reliability.
What we're looking for

First and foremost, you'll need to be confident working directly with customer databases, using SQL to extract, manipulate and analyse data.

We're particularly interested in people who combine technical competence with commercial awareness. Someone who understands not just how to work with data, but why it's needed and how it contributes to better marketing performance.

You'll bring:

  • Strong SQL skills and a good understanding of relational databases.
  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience handling, analysing and reporting on customer data.
  • Previous experience working with CRM, marketing or customer databases.
  • Strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • An understanding of GDPR and customer data management requirements.
  • The ability to work independently, manage competing requests and deliver accurate outputs.
  • Commercial awareness, particularly around how customer data can support segmentation, retention and revenue growth.

Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud and/or Service Cloud would be advantageous, although isn't essential.

This role could suit an experienced CRM Data Analyst, Marketing Data Analyst or CRM Data Manager who enjoys being hands-on with SQL, customer segmentation and data management.
