Job summary

Delphi Care Solutions is seeking an experienced Interim/Turnaround Manager (self-employed) to transform underperforming care homes across the UK’s adult care sector. You will lead critical interventions, implement rapid improvements, and mentor care teams on a freelance contractor basis.

Role requires 5+ years in a registered manager position within healthcare, UK regulatory knowledge, and a valid NMC PIN or NVQ Level 5 Leadership & Management.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of recent experience as a registered manager in the healthcare industry, preferably in a care home setting.
• Must hold a valid NMC PIN or NVQ Level 5 Leadership & Management.
• Enhanced DBS with rolling update.
• Access to own vehicle and full UK driving licence.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements for care homes in the UK.
• Able to work independently and in a team; strong decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive operational diagnostics to identify root causes of underperformance.
• Implement immediate stabilising measures for crisis situations.
• Develop CQC compliance roadmaps across Key Lines of Enquiry.
• Restructure care delivery to ensure sustainable quality improvements.
• Prepare homes for mock and actual CQC inspections.
• Deliver handover documentation with maintained improvements.
• Stakeholder management throughout each assignment.
• Lead interim leadership as stop-gaps for homes lacking managers.
• Mentor care teams to uplift staff capabilities while maintaining service continuity.
• Deliver 30–90 day service improvement plans with measurable outcomes.
