Job summary

Action for Children is seeking a Young People’s Practitioner in Ellon for a hybrid role combining outreach and home-based work. You will provide focused, compassionate interventions to help young people overcome challenges, build resilience, and move toward positive lifestyle choices.

The role involves working within communities, alongside families, to strengthen connections and support safe transitions into education, training or employment.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering tailored interventions to support positive outcomes.
• Experience helping young people reconnect with education, training or employment.
• Ability to manage an active caseload with high-quality support.
• Capable of home visits and multi-agency collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored interventions in line with policies and statutory requirements.
• Help young people reconnect with education, training or employment with guidance and encouragement.
• Manage an active caseload and ensure high-quality support across allocated cases.
• Build trusting relationships with young people, families and partner organisations, including home visits.
• Participate in meetings, presenting case updates during monthly reviews.
• Promote safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
