Job summary

Right There is seeking an Intensive Family Support Worker to help young people and families in Caithness and surrounding areas. You will build trusted relationships with young people, parents and the wider network, delivering targeted 12-week support that strengthens family connections and safety.

The role requires calm, practical support, strong record-keeping and the ability to work across social services and education partners. Part-time hours with flexible patterns are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in family support or youth work is welcomed.
• Passion for helping families stay together where safe.
• Understanding of trauma, poverty and family breakdown.

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible, intensive support to young people and families across Caithness and surrounding areas.
• Collaborate with Social Work, Police and Education to provide wraparound support.
• Use restorative approaches to improve family relationships and resilience.
• Carry out whole-family assessments focusing on strengths and needs.
• Support wellbeing, education, safety planning, substance use and family dynamics.
• Advocate for young people and families in planning and decision-making.
