Job summary

The Society of St James (SSJ) in Hampshire is seeking a compassionate, resilient worker to support adults with histories of homelessness, substance misuse, and mental health challenges. You will build rapport through effective communication, exercise initiative to manage risk, and promote client recovery and independence.

Qualifications

Experience with vulnerable adults facing homelessness, mental health problems, and substance misuse.
Understanding trauma-informed practice, harm minimisation, overdose prevention, safeguarding.
Strong interpersonal and active listening, written and IT skills, time management.
Professional self-awareness, boundaries, and calm response to emergencies.

Responsibilities

Support individuals with histories of homelessness, substance misuse and mental health challenges.
Build rapport through effective communication and exercise initiative to manage risk to promote recovery and independence.
