Job summary

Merseyside Police is hiring an ACU Intelligence Researcher based at Rose Hill Headquarters. The role involves collating, researching, evaluating and disseminating high-quality intelligence to support ACU operations and protect staff and the public.

You will need Level 3 (QCF) or equivalent, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure. The selection process includes an application form, skills assessment and interview.

Qualifications

• Education to Level 3 (QCF) or equivalent, and/or experience in a research support role.
• Strong interpersonal, listening, and organisational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
• An understanding of overt and covert police operations to support ACU activity.
• Knowledge of the organisational structure and departmental functions within policing.
• The ability to work under pressure, manage a demanding workload, and use initiative.
• Confidence using relevant systems, with a willingness to undertake training on ACU-specific systems.

Responsibilities

• Proactively collate, research, evaluate, develop and disseminate high-quality intelligence for ACU.
• Support efficient ACU resource deployment to minimise risks to staff, the organisation and the public.
• Identify, tackle and mitigate corruption and serious malpractice within Merseyside Police.
