Job summary

Stride Resource Management is recruiting a Team Manager to lead a small team of SME insurance professionals in Kent. This hands-on role focuses on people management, coaching, and maintaining service quality while ensuring staff are supported and held to clear standards.

You'll be close to the day-to-day operation, manage workloads, use performance data to drive improvements, and ensure FCA regulation and Consumer Duty compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial insurance broking, ideally SME environment.
• Proven line management and performance coaching abilities.
• Ability to balance performance with supportive leadership.
• Solid understanding of FCA expectations and Consumer Duty in general insurance.

Responsibilities

• You will manage, coach and develop a team of SME insurance professionals, with regular conversations around performance, progression and development.
• You will keep a close view of workloads and capacity, making sure work is allocated sensibly and client service does not suffer when the team becomes busy.
• You will use management information and performance data to understand trends, identify problems early and make practical improvements.
• You will help the team meet its service and commercial objectives without creating an overly target-driven management environment.
• You will maintain appropriate standards around FCA regulation, Consumer Duty and internal quality requirements.
• You will deal constructively with underperformance or capability concerns rather than allowing issues to drift.
• You will support changes to processes and ways of working where there is a clear opportunity to improve efficiency or the client experience.
• You will help identify people with the potential to progress and create opportunities for them to develop their careers.
