Placements24 is partnering with a leading insurer to hire an Insurance Risk Analyst in Randburg. The role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating insurance risks through data analysis, modeling, and strategic recommendations.

You will develop risk models, monitor KRIs, and prepare clear reports for senior management while collaborating across departments to strengthen internal controls. A hybrid work model and ongoing professional development are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related quantitative field.
• 3–5 years of risk analysis experience in insurance or financial services.
• Strong analytical, statistical, and modeling skills; proficient in Excel, R, Python.
• Solid understanding of insurance principles and financial markets.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills; able to explain complex data clearly.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of insurance risks across market, credit, and operations.
• Develop and maintain risk models, scenarios, and stress tests.
• Monitor KRIs and provide regular reports to senior management and committees.
• Research industry trends, regulatory developments, and economic factors affecting insurance.
• Collaborate with departments to implement risk mitigation and strengthen controls.
