Job summary

Ocorian is seeking an Account Manager to service Bermuda-registered insurance clients, delivering efficient accounting and back-office services that meet management, accounting and reporting needs.

You will liaise with clients, bankers, brokers, auditors and regulators, ensuring GAAP/IFRS compliance and supporting listing services. A strong foundation in accounting controls and regulatory requirements is essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (CA or equivalent) with post-qualification experience.
• At least 3 years post-qualification experience, preference for insurance or funds related experience.
• Detailed knowledge of GAAP and IFRS-compliant financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Manage the affairs of a varied portfolio of clients, primarily Bermuda-registered insurance companies, applying technical knowledge to banking, regulatory compliance and ad hoc reports.
• Maintain clients’ accounting records and prepare financial reports per industry requirements and GAAP/IFRS standards.
• Liaise with clients, bankers, brokers, auditors, regulators and other service providers.
• Assist in developing new business areas and marketing.
• Assist in coordinating listing services and liaising with Bermuda Stock Exchange or other stock exchanges as needed.
• Prepare Statutory Financial Returns under the Bermuda Insurance Act 1978.
• Review procedures to ensure compliance with best practice.
