Job summary

Leapfrog Recruitment Consultants is seeking an accounting professional to support Guernsey-regulated insurance clients, handling management accounts, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting. Qualifications

• AAT qualified, part-qualified or ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent accountant.
• Strong accounting and reporting experience in financial services.
• Excellent Excel and reconciliation skills with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ledgers.
• Complete bank, premium, claims and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Account for premiums, claims, commissions and reinsurance transactions.
• Manage cash movements, payment processing and cashflow monitoring.
• Assist with statutory financial statements and annual audit requirements.
• Support regulatory and solvency reporting.
• Prepare financial information for Boards, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Assist with maintaining effective financial controls and improving accounting processes.

Take your accounting career in a specialist direction with a role supporting Guernsey-regulated insurance clients. From premiums and claims to management accounts and regulatory reporting, you'll gain exposure to a varied range of accounting activities. It's an excellent opportunity for someone with strong core accounting skills who is keen to develop further.

Duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

• Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ledgers.
• Complete bank, premium, claims and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Process journals, accruals and prepayments.
• Account for premiums, claims, commissions and reinsurance transactions.
• Manage cash movements, payment processing and cashflow monitoring.
• Assist with statutory financial statements and annual audit requirements.
• Support regulatory and solvency reporting.
• Prepare financial information for Boards, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Assist with maintaining effective financial controls and improving accounting processes.
• Provide wider support to the Client Accounting team as required.

Skills / Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified, part-qualified or a qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent accountant, with previous experience in financial accounting and reporting. You'll have strong Excel and reconciliation skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines and client relationships effectively. Previous insurance accounting or regulatory reporting experience would be advantageous, as would knowledge of insurance operations, IFRS and wider financial services. You'll be analytical, organised and comfortable working independently while maintaining a strong client service and collaborative approach.
