Job summary

Cornish Metals plc is seeking an Instrumentation PLC & SCADA Engineer to drive the redevelopment of the South Crofty tin mine, delivering robust automation for underground and surface operations.

You will design, develop, commission and maintain PLC and SCADA systems, integrate control architectures, troubleshoot issues and pursue continuous improvement to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production as the project advances.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLC programming and SCADA development.
• Background in automation and control engineering for mining or heavy industry.
• Experience commissioning and optimising automation systems.

Job description

Cornish Metals plc is recruiting an Instrumentation PLC & SCADA Engineer to play a key role in the redevelopment of the South Crofty tin mine. Working across both underground and surface operations, you will be responsible for designing, developing, commissioning and maintaining the industrial automation and control systems that underpin our mining and mineral processing operations. From PLC programming and SCADA development to system integration, troubleshooting and continuous improvement, you will help deliver safe, reliable and efficient operations as South Crofty moves towards production.

We are looking for an experienced automation and control engineer with a strong background in PLCs, SCADA and industrial control systems. You’ll have excellent technical and problem-solving skills, experience commissioning and optimising automation systems, and the ability to work collaboratively with engineering, operations and project teams. Experience within mining, heavy industry or other complex industrial environments would be advantageous.
