Job description

Job Title: Instrumentation Engineer

Catfoss Recruitment Ltd is partnering with a globally respected R&D company to recruit an Instrumentation Engineer for their expanding team on a permanent basis.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Manufacture and install instrumentation within R&D testing facilities, including equipment calibration, setup of specialized measurement/monitoring equipment, model assembly, and integration.
2. Troubleshoot and assist in the operation of facilities, ensuring work is completed on schedule while maintaining safety standards.
3. Support the design and integration of instrumentation into customer models and rigs.
4. Perform calibration, maintenance, testing, and fault-finding of sensors, signal conditioning, and data acquisition systems.
5. Support the operation and maintenance of test facilities and instrumentation hardware.
6. Assist in the installation of optical measurement systems and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
7. Maintain records, organize equipment, and perform general departmental duties.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, full-time, 40 hours per week. Shift work may be required during testing operations (typically 07:00 - 15:00 and 14:00 - 22:00 on a rotating weekly basis). Office hours otherwise.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Experienced, time-served technician preferably educated to HNC/HND level in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in R&D or commercial environments.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Flexible approach to shift work and overtime.
• Satisfy security clearance requirements, including 5 years of UK residency.
