Job summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing facility in Yeadon, Leeds. You will be responsible for maintenance, calibration, fault-finding and optimisation of instrumentation and control systems used in the manufacturing process.

The role involves planned and reactive maintenance, with opportunities to contribute to Lean Manufacturing, TPM and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Experience working within Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical or Automation Engineering.
• Experience carrying out calibration and maintenance of instrumentation and measurement systems.
• Strong electrical and instrumentation fault-finding experience.
• Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
• Recognised engineering apprenticeship or technical qualification.
• Equivalent qualification in Instrumentation, Controls, Electrical, Automation Engineering or a related discipline.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Carry out calibration, maintenance, inspection and repair of instrumentation and control systems.
• Complete planned preventative maintenance and scheduled calibration activities.
• Carry out reactive maintenance and fault-finding to minimise production downtime.
• Investigate recurring instrumentation and equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate calibration records, certificates and documentation.
• Assist with control system software modifications, configuration changes and commissioning.
• Interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings and instrumentation documentation.
• Maintain instrumentation manuals, drawings, configuration files, programme backups and certification.
• Identify opportunities to improve instrumentation reliability and process performance.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, TPM, 6S and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure all maintenance and calibration activities are completed safely and in accordance with site procedures.
