Job Opportunity: Instrument Technician at Perenco

This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our multi-skilled team at the Wytch Farm facility near Corfe Castle, Wareham, Dorset.

Wytch Farm produces from 12 remote well sites, with operations including separation, stabilization, water injection, gas compression/drying/fractionation, oil export, power generation, and LPG storage and export. We are seeking an Instrument Technician responsible for maintaining, repairing, and testing instrument-related equipment and systems to ensure safe and efficient operations.

This role operates on a rotational pattern of 4 x 10.5-hour shifts (06:45–17:15), with potential changes during projects and shutdowns, including overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the plant within operational and safety procedures, maximizing availability.
• Perform scheduled and breakdown maintenance on safety systems, fire & gas systems, flow measurement, pressure, temperature, level control, DCS, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Develop and review operational and maintenance procedures.
• Complete Maximo work orders and generate new work requests for plant and equipment failures.
• Raise permits to facilitate efficient maintenance.
• Assist with projects, working with vendors and subcontractors.
• Follow Change Management policies, including plant modifications.
• Use Perenco Observation Safety Techniques (POST) to report acts of safety concern.
• Participate in waste management and shift meetings.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.

Note: Safety Critical Tasks will be assigned, and systems must be operated competently.

Qualifications & Experience

• Accredited apprenticeship or HNC in an engineering discipline.
• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry preferred; related industries considered.
• Experience with ATEX equipment (Compex Trained) is desirable but not essential.
