A leading company is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to oversee engineering specifications and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards in a multi-train LNG facility. The role involves coordinating with contractors, reviewing technical documents, and supporting project execution during engineering and construction phases.
• Work in the Instrumentation Engineering organization of 5 FTE on Company’s side and around 110 FTE on Contractor’s side.
• Assure the Instrumentation discipline issuance, review, and approval of around 5,000 technical documents.
• Implement engineering specifications and provide quality assurance in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services to ensure conformity with sound engineering practice and cost effectiveness.
• Ensure all Project HSE requirements are adhered to and implemented. Emphasize HSE throughout all design activities and contribute to developing a safety culture, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
• Provide expertise in Instrumentation and relevant Industry Codes and Standards for a multi-train LNG facility, including various on-line process analyzers and cryogenic instrumentation types.
• Review contractor and vendor-produced instrument data sheets for various instruments, analyzers, control valves, safety valves, tank gauging systems, HIPPS, fire and gas detectors, and bulk materials.
• Participate in FATs for DCS/ESD/F&G systems with Automation Engineers.
• Engage in P&ID reviews, HAZOP, and other safety review meetings.
• Interface with Contractor Instrumentation Engineering site leads to ensure coordination and issue resolution.
• Identify opportunities and risks related to Instrumentation design, working with Process Safety to ensure safeguards and mitigations are in place for safe operations.
• Oversee and coordinate Contractor planning and execution activities focusing on Instrumentation engineering, with awareness of multidisciplinary aspects.
• Support the Lead Instrumentation and Control Engineer in ensuring adherence to the EPC contract's technical requirements.
• During site activities, respond promptly to queries and issues, oversee rectification of punch list items, and supervise erection and testing of equipment.
Context and environment
• Based in London during Engineering phase.
• Possible relocation to site during Construction or remote support from home office.
Accountabilities
• Ensure proper design implementation for Instrumentation Engineering.
• Oversee and review EPC Contractor’s instrumentation scope of work.
Qualifications/Experience required
• Degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer, PE, or equivalent registration preferred.
• Proficient in English.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant Oil and Gas project experience.
• Supervisory experience in plant and project engineering.
