Job description

Instrument Engineer
Location: London (with potential site visits later during the project phase)
Contract Type: Contract - Outside IR35

Our client is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join a major LNG project. The role will be based in London and offers the opportunity to be part of a landmark development, involving the engineering and execution of large-scale onshore LNG facilities.


Key Responsibilities:
  1. Support the design and execution of instrumentation engineering for a multi-train LNG facility.
  2. Manage the review, approval, and assurance of technical instrumentation documents.
  3. Oversee the procurement process ensuring quality and cost efficiency.
  4. Participate actively in safety reviews, P&ID sessions, HAZOP meetings, and FATs for critical control systems.
  5. Interface with contractors to ensure alignment and resolution of technical issues.
  6. Provide expert input on instrumentation standards, especially for cryogenic service applications.
  7. Maintain a strong HSE focus throughout all engineering activities.

Requirements:
  1. Degree in Engineering with at least 8 years’ experience in the oil & gas sector.
  2. Strong background in instrumentation for large energy projects.
  3. Previous supervisory experience in plant and project engineering.
  4. Chartered Engineer or equivalent preferred.
  5. Fluent in English.
