Job summary

The Winterbourne Hospital in Dorchester is seeking an Instrument Coordinator to join the Theatre team. This full-time role is 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern and a salary of up to £27,000 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.

As part of Circle Health Group, you will oversee instrument preparation, liaise with decontamination services, manage consumables, and support theatre staff to deliver safe, efficient surgical services while adhering to infection control

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, liaising with internal decontamination services and external hospitals where required.
  • Ensure all instruments are clean, functional, and delivered to the correct locations in a timely manner to meet daily theatre schedules.
  • Assist in the ordering, rotation, and replenishment of theatre consumables, ensuring alignment with Circle Health Group’s preferred suppliers and procurement policies.
  • Support the theatre team in delivering seamless surgical services, contributing to improved patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Work closely with theatre practitioners, sterile services, procurement, and external providers to ensure clarity and continuity in equipment and stock availability.
  • Ensure all instrumentation handling complies with hospital policies, infection prevention protocols, and regulatory guidelines.

The Winterbourne Hospital in Dorchester is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for an Instrument Coordinator to join their team of staff in the Theatre department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Duties of this role include:
  • Oversee the preparation and availability of surgical instrumentation, liaising with internal decontamination services and external hospitals where required.
