Job summary

Kintec Global Recruitment is recruiting for a Maintenance Supervisor (Instrument Biased) based in Guildford. This live site role focuses on instrumentation and control systems within a safety-critical energy environment.

You will supervise a multi-discipline team of technicians and contractors, drive maintenance performance, plan shutdowns, and act as technical lead for C&I systems while ensuring regulatory compliance and site safety.

Qualifications

• Time-served instrument or C&I background (NVQ/apprenticeship level or higher).
• Proven experience as Maintenance Supervisor, Team Leader, or Lead Technician.
• Strong knowledge of instrumentation and control systems; mechanical and electrical plant understanding.
• Experience in energy/oil & gas/chemical/industrial environments.
• Understanding of ATEX/DSEAR and hazardous area requirements (CompEx desirable).
• Experience with shutdowns, maintenance planning, and CMMS.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a multi-discipline maintenance team with focus on C&I.
• Drive maintenance performance, safety, and compliance across site.
• Plan and manage day-to-day maintenance activities, shutdowns, outages.
• Act as technical lead for instrumentation and control systems, fault-finding, calibration oversight.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical activities with C&I work.
• Use CMMS to plan, prioritise, and track work and to drive maintenance.
• Support plant improvement and reliability initiatives.
• Ensure all work meets regulatory, hazardous area, and safety requirements.
• Support reporting, scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
