Team/Role Overview

As an Instructional Designer on Citi’s Learning Implementation Services Instructional Design team, you play a pivotal role in developing innovative, learner-centric solutions that drive employee performance and business impact. This is a professional role that requires expertise in instructional design, familiarity with e-learning development technology, and the ability to think strategically to address complex learning needs.

You will contribute to Citi’s success by creating engaging, effective learning experiences for employees across diverse functions & products, aligning solutions with organizational goals. This includes designing content that addresses systems training, compliance, leadership development, and emerging skills, delivered through e-learning.

This role requires a comprehensive understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies, as well as the ability to collaborate across global teams. Success in this role involves working closely with cross-functional teams while adhering to Citi Learning & Culture standards and specifications.

What you’ll do

• Drives the instructional design process through learning content analysis, working with subject matter experts to validate content, and creating supporting design documents including blueprints and storyboards. Development includes building e-learning solutions using e-learning authoring tools (dominKnow, Area9 Rhapsode) and related course material, including rigorous, valid assessments of learning.

• Elevate Experiences: Refresh and enhance evergreen content to keep it cutting-edge, engaging, and relevant, keeping in mind our global audience, translation and localization needs. Carefully & purposefully use Citi’s generative artificial intelligence (genAI) tools to boost productivity & quality.

• Appropriately assess risk when learning & development decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for our extensive governance, standards, and specifications, proactively raising credible challenge when necessary, and escalating control issues with transparency.

What we’ll need from you

• Some experience designing and developing innovative e-learning solutions, including e-learning work samples

• Proficiency with learning design tools like dominKnow, Area9 Rhapsode or others, including document & media development tools like Adobe Creative Cloud apps, Microsoft 365 apps

• Expertise with Learning Management Systems and generative AI apps is a plus

• A strong foundation in adult learning theory and instructional design best practices

• Excellent consulting, verbal and written communication, and relationship-building skills

• Ability to balance competing priorities and complete multiple large projects on time in a high-volume environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or a related field
