Acadian Engineering Ltd in Bo’ness is hiring an Installation Engineer / Mechanical Assembly Technician. This hands-on role covers building ovens from components, assembling equipment, and installing machinery at customer sites across the UK.

You will work with our small, dedicated engineering team and contribute to delivering high-quality, bespoke ovens. The position is full-time and permanent, 38 hours per week, with competitive salary and paid overtime.

Salary: Competitive + Paid Overtime at (Time & ½).

Working Hours: 38 hours/week basic

Mon – Thurs: 07:45 – 16:30

Fri: 07:45 – 12:45

Overtime as required

Acadian Engineering Ltd is a small, family-run engineering company based in Bo’ness, specialising in the design and manufacture of commercial bakery ovens and cooking equipment.

With over 30 years of experience, we manufacture bespoke industrial ovens and cookers for customers throughout the UK and worldwide.

Due to continued business demand and upcoming retirements within our team, we are looking to recruit an Installation Engineer / Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our workshop team.

About the Role

This is a varied, hands-on position involving the mechanical assembly, construction and installation of commercial ovens and associated equipment.

Working alongside our existing engineering team, you will be involved in building ovens from individual components through to completed equipment, as well as assisting with the installation of machinery at customer sites when required.

The role would suit someone with practical mechanical or engineering experience who enjoys hands-on work, has good problem-solving skills and takes pride in producing quality workmanship.

Full training on our products and manufacturing processes will be provided.

Requirements

Essential:

Desirable:

• Experience in fabrication or welding.
• MIG or TIG welding experience.
• Experience working with mild steel or stainless steel.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience with mechanical fitting, machinery assembly or industrial equipment installation.
