Job summary

Acadian Engineering Ltd in Bo’ness is hiring an Installation Engineer / Mechanical Assembly Technician. This hands-on role covers building ovens from components, assembling equipment, and installing machinery at customer sites across the UK.

You will work with our small, dedicated engineering team and contribute to delivering high-quality, bespoke ovens. The position is full-time and permanent, 38 hours per week, with competitive salary and paid overtime.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a practical hands-on engineering, mechanical assembly or manufacturing role.
• Good practical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work from technical information.
• Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of work.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn new skills and manufacturing processes.
• Willingness to travel and occasionally stay away overnight when required.

Responsibilities

• Building and assembling commercial ovens and cooking equipment.
• Mechanical fitting and installation of components and assemblies.
• Working from engineering drawings and build specifications.
• Fitting doors, panels, frames, motors, fans and associated components.
• Using a variety of workshop power tools and equipment.
• Identifying and resolving assembly issues during the build process.
• Assisting with the installation of equipment at customer sites.
• Working as part of a small team to meet production schedules.
