Job summary

Aspire People are recruiting for a Year 2 Class Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Kettering, Northamptonshire from January 2027 until the end of the summer term. It is a full-time, paid-to-scale position.

The ideal candidate holds QTS/FQT, is confident delivering KS1 literacy and numeracy, plans engaging lessons, assesses progress and fosters a positive, inclusive classroom environment to help every child reach their potential.

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS and be a Fully Qualified Teacher (FQT).
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 1 curriculum, particularly reading, writing and mathematics.
• Confident in planning, delivering and assessing high-quality teaching.
• High expectations for pupil achievement, behaviour and personal development.
• Able to adapt teaching to meet learners with different abilities and starting points.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• Positive, reflective and collaborative team member.

Responsibilities

• Teaching a Year 2 class on a full-time basis.
• Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality KS1 lessons.
• Assessing and monitoring pupil progress to ensure support and challenge.
• Creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.
• Building positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
• Promoting positive behaviour, independence, resilience and love of learning.
