Job summary

Qualifications

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or is working towards completion of an ECT programme.
• Excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all learners.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enthusiastic, creative and committed to CPD and continuous development.
• Works well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Establishes positive professional relationships with pupils, parents, carers and external professionals.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet individual needs of pupils.
• Create a stimulating, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Lead, manage and motivate learning support assistants effectively.
• Assess, monitor and report on pupil progress and achievement.
• Implement and develop the school’s curriculum for pupils with complex needs.
• Work closely with parents, carers and external professionals.
• Contribute to Annual Reviews and multi-agency meetings.
• Promote pupils’ wellbeing, independence and personal development.
• Support inclusion opportunities within and beyond the school environment.
• Contribute to curriculum development and whole-school improvement initiatives.
