Supply Desk is seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Class Teacher to join a specialist school in Portsmouth. This role is a full-time, permanent position starting ASAP, with competitive daily pay and strong induction and professional development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have QTS or equivalent and experience with SEND, capable of delivering differentiated lessons and building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience working with pupils with SEND is desirable.
• Strong understanding of differentiated and inclusive teaching.
• Ability to adapt teaching to meet individual learning needs.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Patient, nurturing and resilient approach.
• Ability to build strong and positive relationships with pupils.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• High expectations for learning, behaviour and personal development.
• Commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.

Responsabilités

• Take responsibility for the learning, progress and achievement of pupils within your class.
• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs.
• Use specialist SEND teaching approaches to engage and support learners.
• Assess, monitor and record pupil progress effectively.
• Set appropriate and challenging learning objectives.
• Develop pupils' independence, confidence and self-regulation.
• Create a calm, safe and stimulating classroom environment.
• Establish positive relationships based on mutual respect.
• Work closely with Learning Assistants and other support staff.
• Liaise with specialist professionals and implement recommendations within the classroom.
• Communicate effectively with parents, carers and external professionals.
• Contribute to the wider curriculum, pastoral life and ethos of the school.
• Support safeguarding and promote the welfare of all pupils.
