Marchant Recruitment is seeking an inspiring Teacher of Science for a Durham-based secondary school. The role covers KS3-KS5 with potential A‑Level teaching depending on subject specialism. You will deliver engaging lessons, oversee practicals, and guide students through GCSE/A-Level preparation.

Join a collaborative STEM team, operate within CLEAPSS safety guidelines, and take on Form Tutor duties to support student development. January start, full-time, permanent.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or UK teaching credentials (PGCE / SCITT).
• Honors degree in Biology, Chemistry or Physics or closely related discipline.
• Proven track record or potential for delivering positive GCSE/A-Level outcomes.
• Strong practical laboratory skills and up-to-date CLEAPSS safety knowledge.
• Willingness to obtain/update an enhanced DBS check.

Responsabilités

• Teach practical and theoretical Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5.
• Plan and execute safe laboratory experiments meeting CLEAPSS standards.
• Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level assessments with data interpretation.
• Maintain laboratory spaces and equipment with department technicians.
• Assess and report student progress via assessments and exams.
• Fulfill pastoral duties as Form Tutor supporting student wellbeing.
