Marchant Recruitment seeks an inspiring Science Teacher for a Portsmouth academy, starting January. This full-time, permanent role covers KS3–KS5 Science with GCSE/A-Level delivery possible depending on subject specialism. You will work with technicians to ensure safe experiments, data interpretation, and exam preparation while supporting student wellbeing as a Form Tutor.

Qualifications

• QTS or UK teaching credentials (PGCE/SCITT)
• Honors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related science
• Proven track record or strong potential for GCSE and A-Level outcomes
• Strong practical laboratory skills and up-to-date CLEAPSS safety knowledge
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Responsibilities

• Teach KS3–KS5 Science, including GCSE/A-Level preparation
• Plan and run safe laboratory experiments per CLEAPSS guidelines
• Prepare students for required practicals and examinations
• Maintain lab spaces and equipment with department technicians
• Assess and report student progress through tests and coursework
• Fulfill pastoral duties as Form Tutor to support wellbeing and development
