Job summary

Dibden Park School in Southampton is seeking a dedicated Science Teacher to deliver engaging science lessons to students with additional learning needs, including autism and SEMH. With smaller class sizes, you can focus on individual progress in a nurturing environment that fosters curiosity and confidence.

You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team, adapting teaching to meet each pupil’s needs and helping every student reach their full potential while upholding safeguarding,

Qualifications

• Teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS or equivalent) required.
• Experience planning and delivering lessons within an education setting.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• The ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning needs.
• Excellent organisational and IT skills.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Driving licence required
• Experience working with students with autism, SEND or challenging behaviour would be advantageous, although not essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Science lessons to individuals and small groups, tailored to students' needs.
• Monitor, assess and report on student progress, supporting positive outcomes.
• Develop and implement personalised learning, education and behaviour plans.
• Create a safe, structured and stimulating learning environment that promotes independence and confidence.
• Work collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants, families and multi-disciplinary teams to support student success.
• Promote positive behaviour, wellbeing and safeguarding while maintaining accurate records and educational standards.
