Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd is seeking a compassionate SEND Learning Support Assistant to work in a Bradford primary school, supporting pupils with special educational needs.

You will work with class teachers and the SENDCo to adapt activities, promote inclusion and assist with EHCPs, with term-time, fixed-term or permanent options.

The role requires GCSE English and Maths (C/4 or above) and safeguarding knowledge; DBS checks apply and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND in an educational or care setting.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Patience, empathy and resilience.
• GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with SEND, including ASD, ADHD and SEMH needs.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual pupil requirements.
• Encourage positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals.
• Assist with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
• Promote inclusion and equal opportunities for all pupils.
