Job summary

DN Colleges Group is seeking a Lecturer - Mechanical Engineering to join our Engineering department. The role delivers high-quality teaching across Mechanical Engineering, acting as a Programme Tutor to support student progress and wellbeing, with collaboration across industry partners and support teams.

This part-time position offers flexible discussion on working pattern and an attractive salary for 22.5 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Relevant Mechanical Engineering qualification at Level 3 or above.
• Minimum Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths.
• Recognised teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
• Excellent subject knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to create a stimulating learning environment and motivate students.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Mechanical Engineering programmes.
• Act as a Programme Tutor and support student progress, attendance, achievement and wellbeing.
• Develop engaging and inclusive learning experiences using innovative teaching methods and learning technologies.
• Assess student work, maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance processes.
• Embed English and maths within teaching and learning activities.
• Monitor student behaviour and attendance, taking appropriate action where required.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with industry partners to enhance learning and progression opportunities.
• Participate in student recruitment activities, including open events and admissions activities.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop, review and improve the curriculum.
