Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is seeking a dedicated Maths Functional Skills Teacher for a college setting in Durham. The position offers a temporary, long-term basis with an immediate start, delivering Functional Skills Maths at Entry Level 1 and 2, planning lessons, assessing progress, and supporting students to build confidence in applying mathematical skills to real-life scenarios.

The role requires QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification, experience in FE/post-16 settings, and strong classroom

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status / QTS or teaching qualification (ECTs welcome)
• Experience delivering Functional Skills Maths at Entry Level 1 and Entry Level 2
• Experience teaching in FE / college / post-16 settings
• Ability to differentiate lessons for varying abilities

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver Functional Skills Maths lessons at Entry Level 1 and 2
• Assess student progress and provide feedback
• Differentiate teaching to meet individual needs
