Job summary

E-ACT Ilminster Academy seeks a committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work with teachers, pupils and families, delivering high-quality learning experiences and helping pupils overcome barriers to achievement.

The role is 12 hours per week over 39 weeks per year, with a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2027. The successful candidate will support inclusion, safeguarding and high expectations within a supportive school community.

Qualifications

• Level 2 TA qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience with primary-aged children in educational settings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to use initiative.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality learning activities and cover teacher absence.
• Collaborate with teachers to plan and adapt activities for all pupils.
• Support pupils to reach their potential with high expectations.
• Provide targeted interventions for individuals and groups, including SEND.
• Assess progress and provide feedback to teachers.
