Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment in Burnley, Lancashire, is seeking a History Teacher for a part-time role in an Alternative Provision setting. You will deliver engaging lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students with SEND/SEM hurdles, in a small-class environment.

QTS required; a passion for making history relevant; three days per week; immediate start; competitive daily rate paid PAYE; supportive multi-disciplinary team focusing on student welfare and outcomes.

Qualifications

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Specialist subject knowledge in History.
• Experience or strong desire to work in SEND, SEMH, or Alternative Provision environments.
• Exceptional classroom management and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver creative History lessons for KS3/KS4.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive classroom and support student engagement.
• Track progress, adapt teaching strategies, collaborate with pastoral teams.
• Build rapport with students to boost confidence and retention.
