Job summary

Operam Education is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Hounslow. The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm, starting 7th September 2026, with weekly pay of £515–£550. You will support the class teacher in EYFS lessons and work with children to foster development and a love of learning.

Applicants should have EYFS experience, be proactive and reliable, and be prepared for an enhanced DBS check. QTS or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging EYFS lessons and activities.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development.
  • Help create a positive, safe and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Encourage children's social, emotional and communication development through play-based learning.
  • Assist with classroom organisation, preparation of resources and displays.
  • Observe children's progress and provide feedback to the class teacher.
  • Support pupils with personal care where required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and help children develop independence and confidence.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff and parents to ensure the best outcomes for every child.

Main Duties
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and creative EYFS lessons and activities.
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development.

About You
  • Have previous experience working with children within an EYFS setting (essential).
  • Be passionate about supporting young children during the early stages of their education.
  • Be proactive, reliable and willing to contribute to the wider school community.
  • Hold an EYFS or relevant childcare qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Have a genuine commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Be willing to undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide original qualifications before placement.
  • Teaching roles require Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
