Job summary

Winner Education is currently recruiting a passionate Design & Technology (DT) Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive SEN school in Hall Green, Birmingham. Start date ASAP, with both Full-Time and Part-Time options; salary £167-£232 per day, dependent on experience and payscale.

You will deliver engaging DT lessons, inspire students, and help develop practical and theoretical skills while maintaining a positive learning environment and safeguarding sensitive needs of EHCP pupils.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary school level.
• Strong subject knowledge and confidence delivering practical lessons.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Experience with SEMH, ASD, OOD, ADHD, MLD.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons across the relevant key stages.
• Teach a range of DT topics, including practical and theoretical elements.
• Develop students' creativity, problem-solving and practical skills.
• Prepare and maintain classroom and workshop resources.
• Ensure health and safety procedures are followed during practical lessons.
• Assess, monitor and track student progress, providing constructive feedback.
• Differentiate lessons to meet the needs and abilities of all learners.
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum development and student achievement.
• Supporting pupils on EHCPs for SEMH, ASC, ASD.
